Yay! And for a prompt… I will be obvious. Nathaniel/LI of your choice, first day of vacation. :D

And I will be totally obvious in my choice of LI. Also, setting this in the modern AU that lives in my head. Because I can. :D

The alarm went off at the usual time. Bethany groaned into her pillow. “Turn it off,” she muttered, pulling the covers over her head.

The mattress shifted, and suddenly the warmth at her back was gone. Bethany whined in response. “Some of us don’t get summer vacation any more,” Nathaniel said, his voice muffled by the blanket covering her ears. 

“‘s good to be a teacher.” Bethany pulled the covers back down and blinked her eyes clear of sleep. When she sat up, she saw Nathaniel standing in front of the dresser, his back to her. He was still naked - he preferred sleeping that way - so once her vision cleared, she was able to enjoy the view. And she did. As often as possible. 

With a grin, she pulled the t-shirt she slept in up and over her head. “Call in sick.”

“Hmm?” He continued to rummage through his underwear drawer. “I have a lot to do, the new manual …”

When he turned around, he trailed off. Bethany let the blanket pool around her waist. “Oh,” he said, one corner of his mouth turning up. “That’s not fair.”

“Nope.” She held out a hand. “Call in sick.”

Nathaniel started to laugh. “You know,” he said, crawling back onto the bed. “I do think I feel a headache coming on.”

Summer vacation, Bethany thought - later, when she could think again - was off to a fantastic start.
